And so it begins...the next chapter....

It occurred to me on my morning walk with Stella, that although initially intended for comedic purposes only, this blog could serve as a pretty insightful glimpse into my less-than-conventional life (putting it mildly), IF you dare...

I'm finding myself at another of life's crossroads and it's decision making time.  Some weeks ago, I found myself summarily superseded from my regular, nine-to-five, corporate hampster wheel (the details of which I don't see the need to go into) and even though initially there was pannicked disdain, guilt, downtrodden and depressed feeling, it quickly turned to that of overjoyed optomism and boundless potential.

"Do one thing every day that scares you."
~ Eleanor Roosevelt

See, I've always fancied myself more of a free thinker/free spirit than most and while the thought of changing careers every 5-10 years might send a sub-arctic chill up the spines of most, I very much welcome it.  It's kind of my humanitarian duty to make one less entrant in the human rat race.  This epiphany came one day at a happy hour while I stood in amazement at several corporate blowhards talking about what they did with their 9-10 hours that day.  So, I set out to find a way to take the 24 hours offered to me each day and keep as much of it as possible for myself, in lieu of giving it to some corporation and some task that probably (not in all cases...calm down) will mean nothing to anyone even 10 years from now.  Maybe I'll do it by way of this blog, writing the next great American novel or even knocking over liquor stores.  The point is, who really knows?  I look at it this way: No one ever got a guest spot on Letterman for sitting at a fuckin desk all day....

It seems when ever I do this life/career switcheroo, I tend towards the polar opposite of what I'm currently doing.  Years back, I left my cushy financial sector tech job for the motorcycle industry and even now, the switch from project management to massage therapy is a daunting one.  I promise, I will always keep you guessing.  But, in the end, I figure it will allow me the flexibility to write more and entertain you fine folks and also get in touch with my fellow humans (pun intended, laugh now...)

Be bold my friends.  Have yourself a bold ass day.....

  1. Well now. Considering you're going to have some more free time, I'd like to discuss that project I told you I was working on. Perhaps now is the time for you to get involved in a new endeavor. Something a bit more creative.
